'nother day in the garage......

Well after another day in the garage I learned a few more things about this ole '36....like how to get the tail light lense off, (sheesh), how to take the headlight mounts off the fenders, (how do all those spider webs find their way into there?), where the switch is for that little glovebox light, where the adjustments are on the carburetor, etc & etc.

I am beginning to be "at one" with the old Terraplane. While discovering how things work with it, I can't help but feel a deep respect for the engineers and workers that created it!

This truely is the time when cars were cars.....

Sounds like a good day! You gotta love and respect the inovation that went into these cars being still a fairly new product. Engineers were breaking new ground daily. Now it seems like the biggest challenge is finding new places to put air bags.

You forgot "how to open the hood" to check the oil - and finding the dip stick when you DO get the hood open. LOL

Except for those cars...BMW's and Mercedes among others, Alex...that don't HAVE dipsticks (except behind the wheel). The crankcases and transmissions are sealed at the factory.
