36 Battery Holddown

I would also be interested in finding that out. I have the battery box and cover, but the actual hold-down bracket is missing.0

I'm not aware that there was a hold-down clamp for the under-seat battery box. I think gravity did the trick!

What does the cover look like. BTW, it's really a hole in the floor.0

My cover is just 1/4 plywood . two screws into captive nuts hold it down.
There is a captive nut on each end of the battery holder that are at an angle.
I assume these must have been used to hold down the battery. I can make
something that would work but I wonder what the originals look like.

My '36 was pretty original when I got it, and it just had a simple 1/4" plywood cover over the battery and used those two captive nuts to hold it in place. I can't recall if I just put washers on the screws or if there were a couple of metal plates of some kind. Unfortunately I don't have a photo of that area, either original or restored.0

It's the ole '36 crowd, how are you guys doing? The most my '36T has been driven so far was by my neighbor, a fellow Hudson club member, who evacuated it during the fire storms. He took it down to his wife's place of business and some morons let the air out of 3 of the tires overnight. Luckily no damage or no theft of the parts that I had stacked in the back seat. Our house survived. My wife and I were vacationing in Mexico.0

Glad you made it through, unscathed! And, three cheers for nice neighbors, eh? Especially H-E-T members!0
