1939 Hudson Convertible

Hi all,
I do not know why I have not ask this before, but, I am restoring a 1939 Hudson convertible that saw some serious custom work in the early 50's. My point here is I would like to see what the car looked like before it went under the customerizers torch. Anyone out there have a few great photo's of their 39 convertible they could share with me?
Also, can anyone walk me through the process to post a photo of my car in the upper corner of my posts so I can look like the rest of you?

Brownie, advising you on the finer points of what it should have looked like, will be difficult through Forum postings. What you really need to do is to find someone with a restored (or original) '39 convertible -- hopefully, someone close enough for you to visit the car, take measurements and lots of photos.
If you're in the H-E-T you need only look through the roster to find folks with '39 convertibles. (As a matter of fact, I'm fairly sure that the '39 convertible bodies were fairly identical with the '37 and '38's, so that increases your chances of finding one.
Where are you located? Maybe we can suggest someone for you to visit.0 -
I would suggest you contact Pete Booz. He has had the pleasure of redoing a 39 coupe and I believe a convertible too... he is very knowledgeable and know what specific parts might interchange between the 30s and 40s cars.0

I have photos of a totally original '39 Hudson Six convertible brougham that I sold last year - no one in the So. Calif. area wanted it so it is now in Sweden.
Original paint, uph., top, etc.; needed complete restoration & rust free as came out of the Bay Area.0 -
Brownie,
Some of us renegades would like to see some pics of your customized car (not that we don't want to see stock '39 photos, but we need to broaden our horizons, don't we?) Email them to Rick at White Triangle Trucking, and he'll take it from there.0 -
Shortly after picking up my "rust bucket" from a hill side in Wyoming I posted some photos on the Forum. I had a number of very helpfull leads and have learned that my car was customized in the early 50's using the concepts that were featured in a January 1952 Motor Trend article by Chas S. Martz. Bill A. sent me a great file on custom sports cars and loaded with this knowledge I have started the return to the road. I expect it to be a two to three year project. A short time back our President, Mike Cherry brought by our WTN editor and took a few photo's. You can watch for the photo's in an upcomming edition of the WTN. The plan is in place, the work has started and I have all the parts I need to finish the project. I am now looking for those unusual parts that will set it apart from a run of the mill custom Hudson. As things progress I will supply some photo's so our fine group can give me that support that is common for those who choose to "take the road less traveled by..."
Thanks
