Need pictures please

I am needing some detailed photos of a correctly restored or nice original undercarriage and engine compartment of a 52 Hornet Hollywood. I am restoring a very nice rust free car and have cleaned the underside and it appears to have mostly red oxide primer with a few spots of undercoating. Also noticable are inspection paint dawbs on the differntial. I need info to make it as correct as possible. This car has one of the finest bodies I have seen in 25+ years of restorations, absolutly no rust on 100% original sheetmetal! We specialize in muscle car restoration so this car has been a learning experience for us. Thanks for any help, Doug

Where are you located? Maybe one of our Forum members has such a car you could look at, and lives hear you.

  • I've searched the net and can't seem to find any good pictures. Surely someone has restored the bottom of a Hornet and was proud enough to take pictures! Any info would be apreciated. Thanks,Doug

I'm curious to what level of restoration are you going for?

I think your assumptions are correct, my 49 and 50 Hudsons have red oxide primer underneath, with a little paint overspray, the undercoating was probably dealer applied or done sometime during it's lifetime.

Pictures and documentation are tough to come by for these cars because so much information was lost when Hudson went out of business.

Check this thread out, Alex Burr has compiled a ton of information maybe some of what you are looking for there?
