Throttle linkage woes

I suggest un-hooking the spring and each section of the linkage until you find the 'bind' . Check if the bell crank 'flipped' when went 'past center'; It seems I had a Hudson in the past that ocassionally went past center giving a prob.. Was this car sitting a long time and did it work with the big spring previously? In either case it should be easy to correct by disconnecting to check, lube, anf/or different spring. Good Luck.0

Ol Racer may be on to something there. I once had a 51 Hornet with a single 2BBL that the linkage went past center when the left front motormount broke. It's the same linkage set up as the 49 262. In my case the gas pedal was on the floor. A fun ride since the clutch linkage also disconnected it's self! Try wide open in second gear with the clutch and accelerator pedals on the floor!:eek:0
