1951 4 door hudson

Tuesday I was asked to help a friend haul an International firetruck home, He is an older fella and could use the help loading such a large truck on the trailer. We got to the place and called the owner, he said" if you like it load it up.. I will be there shortly". So we started it up and the wheels were locked up but with a little work I had it on the trailer and ready to go. I asked to air up the tires on the trailer while the title and money was exhanged. I noticed peeking around the corner a hood and some doors from a step down hudson, nice ones at that. The man selling the truck said to come in if you go time and look at my old cars, how could I say no??? possible step down action to come??? anyway. He had several old edsels and as he said "orphans and odd ball" cars. So. He was asking my friend if he would be interrested in buying some older cars. So I chimed in, "got any 48-54 hudsons?" He replies "I have 2". I didn't get too excited yet, he may want a fortune for them. So we get in the car and look at all he has, He has a 53 wasp 4 door, looks like a nice driver he said He wants 6,000.00 for it and He has a 51 4 door hornet he wants 3,000.00. The 51 is a 3 speed and the 53 is an automatic. I said the 51 is more to my money situation right now and I would like to fix it my self. Niether car has rust at all in the frame or anywhere. the 53 has a nice burgandy paint job also. He said that there's some more with the 51 since your a "fixer-upper" He said the motor knocked so I have a rebuilt engine for it and some parts, I bet that there was a 20 foot wall ten foot high full of N.O.S. and used huson parts that goes with it. I am scratching up all my (the wife don't know about money) to get this 51 and parts. I thought I would ask if anyone would be interrrested in the 53 and there are lots of parts that I may not need. I thought I would share my good luck with all of you, I told the wife and she just didn't see the good fortune that had smiled on me today. thanks
