Hello everyone, would there be any problem with puting a 648-S carb that belongs on a 254 8 cyl. on a 6 cyl 262 that has a 647-S on it now? Jet size or any other potential problems? Thanks, Richie.

  • According to my '48 hudson shop manual there is little differnce between the two carbs. You could take the metering rod out of the 647S (6 cyl. #75-610)and put it in the 648S (8 cyl. carb.) which shows a 75-607 metering rod. Norm

Thanks Hudson 308 and thank you Norm. I believe I'll try it. Richie.
