overdrive
Well, I got the overdrive in my Jet working Saturday night. With the help of my brother-in-law and a few beers:eek: we got it working. He has a 53' Studebaker truck with overdrive so he has had some experience. We just jacked up the rear end and put it on jack stands. It seemed to work well, I didn't want to take it out on the road because it is too sloppy right now. I had the wires crossed on the selenoid.
Also with the help of 37 terraplane #2, I got the carb running good, It was mostly in the metering rod adjustment. All I need now is a dual carb set up!:D

Which brings up a question- the terminals on the solenoid are referred to in the drawings as #4 and #6, I believe- but which is which? I'm going to tackle my OD this winter, as well.0

Number 4 is the solenoid energizing circuit; number 6 is the ignition shorting circuit. The wire attaching screw hole for #4 is visibly larger than the #6 one ... it's probably a #12 screw size vs a #8 or 10 for the other connection.0

Thanks, Barry- I have wiring diagrams, but they're all schematics and don't show which termimal is which on the actual solenoid. Park cleared it up for me. Thanks to all- Mike0
