Brands Hatch to the Nurburgring classic event 2008
Hello all,
Reading over the forum i felt you might be interested in the sort of thing we are organizing over on my club. its the 4th year we have done this event and if your interested please read on.
www.BH2NRetro.co.uk View the video on the site for an idea of what to expect. (Warning this is not a race of any sort, anyone treating this as a race will be removed from any further trips)
We are organizing a trip from Brands Hatch to the Nurburgring for all Classic and retro owners. We have great experience in organizing these types of events and have done this many times before, so feel in safe hands. we all meet up at brands hatch with a parade lap of the track before leaving to cross the ferry and over the beligum for our half way stop (about 250 miles) we stop off at one of the F1 hotels (inc in the cost) and then onto the Nurburgring in Germany where we stop over camping at the famous Nurburgring official campsite. later on in the week we will have a parade lap too of the 13 mile Nurburgring Track. very much worth waiting for. During our stay there are loads of things to do which we offer you ideas in your run packs once paid onto the run.
This years 2008 run dates have changed as we decided to accommodate the requests for it to be in the holidays. We have opened up the doors to all Classic and Retro Cars because its always nice to meet other types of classic car enthusiasts being racey or retro and it gives everyone a chance to do and see things which they would have never possibly seen before. We would love it if you guys could join us for our 4th year of this trip.
So we will meet at Brands Hatch for distribution of "Goodie Bags" but this will be on the 13th August 2008 for the start of the week.
We will be going for a week returning on the 20th August.
This year we would like everyone to stop over in Belgium as managing the convoys last year was difficult, especially the straight through group. With this in mind we have found a hotel with better rooms and facilities and one night on the way out and way back is included in the price.
Our stay in Germany will once again be hosted by the wonderful Herr Fischer at Camping Am Nurburgring. Again the cost of the camping is included in the price. Herr Fischer provides us with a lovely site with clean showers/toilets and there is a bar/restaurant on site that does a cracking breakfast (they will do veggie if you ask).[ url="http://www.camping-am-nuerburgring.de/"]CLICK here to view the campsite[/url]
Whilst at the 'Ring we will have some days out planned but these will be decided with the weather in mind at the time.
There will also be a final night dinner but this will not be included in the cost and is optional.
So down to the nitty gritty and the cost.
This year the cost will be GBP £200, for this you get Ferry crossings, 2 nights hotels in Belgium, 6 nights camping, and the ubiquitous good pack. Cost is for 1 person 1 car, for passengers add camping ONLY at Euros 12 per DAY (about £8.60)
Application forms are on line and new for this year we have a deposit/instalments scheme this year in that you pay GBP £50 up front and the final GBP £150 is payable by May 31st 2008.
If anyone has any questions feel free to post them up in here or into the run forum.
