Tranny stuck in gear
I am putting in a new clutch in a 1940. The car shifted ok, but now that the trans is out, I cannot get the lever to move to put it into gear. Both interlock linkages are intact and moving, and I have tried moving the clutch linkage, and the thing that the cable hooks on to, all to no avail. What is wrong? I am afraid that being in neutral will not allow the input shaft to be turned via the driveshaft yoke to enable slipping the shaft into the clutch disc, and, even worse, something is wrong that will prevent shifting once the car is assembled. Help!
