    No Roger,

The fill neck is not shaped correctly.

    Thanks Lance.

    R/ Roger.
  • The tank is a 52-53 Tank... possibly 51. Note the over all size of the tank will preclude it from being shipped via USPS. When shipped the tank requires packaing that will assure the filler tube is protected... Crating? The last tank I purchased was the same and I had the filler tube sawed off leaving 2.5 inches at the tank. THe tank was then shipped via USPS with filler tube enclosed. When I used the tank I added a gas proof connection pipe between the pieces.
  • Roger, I bought a complete drive train from a restored 46 Hudson PU. There is a brand new gas tank with the deal. I can not use it for my Coupe. It is for sale. If you are interested in the gas tank, please let me know.

I'm no expert on these matters, so I hesitate to offer this, but I think that a gas tank is the sort of large, but light kind of item that is tailor made for shipping by greyhound.

CORRECT ON THE BIG GREY DOG. I've used Greyhound for a number of large items at a very tremendous saveings over all other carriers. The only drawback is when shipped to remote areas where they do not have a terminal as all shipments must be picked up at their terminal, but even so, it is worth it to get the huge differance in shipping. You just send to closest terminal to the buyer and they will call him.
