finally, .... i managed to unlock my original 308 yesterday. so now i am completly tearing it down. i also completed and started my other 308 yesterday. so now i have to redo the brake lines and drop in the motor and we will be on the road!!!

    Does sound like progress is being made. I've always maintained the first thing that should be done is get the engine running - up to that point all you got is a pile of dead iron. Once the engine is running, there's the incentive to get it restored and on the road.

    In other news, the Mrs. and I were in Tennessee a few years ago. I had always thought "grits" were petrified whole corn kernals (turns out, that's Hominy Grits). But anyhow, we were at a Shoney's breakfast buffet, and the southern belle was emptying a pot of what looked like white cornmeal mush into the pan. So I innocently asked, "What's that?" She answered, "Why, them's grits, honey- where y'all from?"



    Our tour of the south was delightful- stopped at a certain Tennessee Walker farm on the recommendation of a friend, where the guy didn't know us from Adam. We planned to stay a couple of hours, ended up staying 3 days. I do like that Southern hospitality.

    Waal, then there's Adirondack. If ya wanna speak that, y'have t'leave out some of th'letters and words.



    Then when it gits s'cold it'll freeze the hair off a dog, th'words freeze and ya have t'wait 'till spring when they thaw out t'understand em.
