Another Radio adapter option
Here is another way to hook up various modern devices to an older AM Car radio. Unfortunately the 6V unit is not out yet, but it supposedly is coming. I did email them to ask about + ground and will let you know the reply.

One way to use this device without modification and waiting for the 6 volt version... purchase a 12 volt quick start portable starting system and run a wire from it to the unit ... you will have power all day and can recharge the quickstart over nite. I have one in the trunk ... I use it to power 12 volt portable electronics while driving.0
