I need help. I need to find out what color the 1951 #92 Herb Thomas Fabulous Hudson Hornet was. I would appreciate it if I could get the paint code or a colored picture of the actual race car. I have many pictures of his 1952 and 1953 cars but never a 1951. Thanks,

    If I were you, I would get in touch with Jack Miller at Miller Motor Co. in Ypsilanti, Mi.:)

    My best recollection was light blue. But that was a long time ago... It's interesting to note that Herb won the 51 Championship driving the Marshall Teague number 6 in the last races of the season. His #92 had been "used up"and Marshall being the gentelman he was, loaned Marshall the car to win the Title. He put the car on the pole at Jacksonville and won the race.

  • I have a picture of the 1951 Fabulous Hudson Hornet and it appears to be a dark blue color with white decals. I also have picture of a custom replica that was made and it is a lighter blueish/gray color. I don't know if the replica is correct or not.

    :confused::confused:
  • I think this is what your looking for?
  • Thanks for your response. The picture you shared is of the 1952. I have that one also. The 1951 picture I have is of a dark blue #92. Do you know anything about that car?
  • Hi, I tried to get ahold of Jack Miller at Miller Motor co. in Ypsilanti, MI.

    I called information and got nowhere. No Miller Motor Co. in Ypsilanti.

    Can you get me more detailed info?

    Another posibility is that he used several cars and might have been different colors. They ran many more races in those days and one car making the entire season would have been an exception rather than the rule.
  • Here is the link to get ahold of Jack Miller: http://www.ypsiautoheritage.org/

    A new building was built adjacent to Miller Motors that houses a small but nice collection that Jack oversees. He's there in the afternoons on weekdays.
