Can someone pls provide some info. There is a spring loaded plunger that fits in the end of the camshaft and rubs on the inside of the timing cover to keep the camshaft in position. Cant find any thing in the books re the installation and the amount of compression on the spring. I assume its not much - about 1/4". Appreciate some comments. Thanks. Barry

Well, these springs aren't prone to failure, so if it looks decent, just put the spring in the camshaft, and then the plunger. !/4 in sounds about right to me.
Just make sure there is a phenolic washer between the camshaft and the block. Sometimes these are missing and if so, will raise hob with the lifters. They are $20 from Dale Cooper.0 -
Where does the washer go on the cam shaft, back of the block?
Where is the best place to get new cam bearings?0 -
The thrust washer goes behind the front flange of the camshaft.0

Thanks Uncle Josh for the confirmation, Regards, Barry0
