1938 Terraplane 4-door in D.C.
One of our local Hudsonites discovered a '38 Terraplane 4-door for sale in Washington, D.C. It's definitely a "parts car", though it supposedly has a pretty good engine that might be coaxed to run. (I'm assuming it's a 3x5 but can't swear to it, as I haven't seen the car and my informant isn't into pre-War cars.)
The car was one of several which were collected over the years by an elderly gent who passed on, and apparently the new owners of the property have enlisted the help of a fellow to clean out the garage. I've been told that the car is missing the entire back seat and part of the front seat, that "the dashboard is rusty", and that the prominent stainless steel vertical trim piece in the grille, is gone. So this car is probably good for little but cannibalizing.
The seller is knocking around a price of $2,000 but I gently advised him that he'd probably get an offer in the hundreds, not thousands, of dollars.
I'm sure this car WILL be sold, so if you have any interest, offer the guy something for it...you may end up with it. There are a couple Hudsonites in the surrounding counties with a place to store the car, and you might be able to cut a deal with them for hauling, storing and "harvesting of parts" -- if you don't want to haul this thing all the way home, that is.
E-mail me for the name and phone number of the seller.

I'm shamelessly bumping this to the top!
The car (I'm told) must be gone by about Feb. 12. It's sitting in a garage which the new owners will begin converting to other uses on or about that date.
The car runs (I had said before that it might; in fact, it does).0
