Another video Game way to drive a Hudson

A lot of you who actually play video games or have kids that do, know you can drive as Doc Hudson in the game version of CARS. But there's another game that allows you to drive a Terraplane Coupe and a sedan. The rendering on the grills isn't perfect but you can definitely tell what cars they are... in name as well. The game is called MAFIA. I own a copy. It's A bit like Grant Theft Auto but takes place in the late 1920's- '30 and you can drive a lot of other cars from that era as well in the game.
In 2008 they're coming out with a sequel to that game MAFIA 2. for PS3 and Xbox 360 and there's only a trailer out for it now on the internet but I'd swear I saw a stepdown in the trailer. the sequel takes place in the late '40's-'50s so Hudson's may actually be in that video game as well....... again for those that are interested

Yeah there's games out there with Mercs or video games featuring chopped and rodded early '50's cars that can be easily mis-identified by kids no in the know.0

I know there's not a lot of gamers on this forum but for those who might be interested there's 2 new video games on the way to be released featuring Hudson's.
1. is Mafia II which has a 1954 Hudson Wasp sedan in it. It's slated to come out between May and July. Basically a mob movie you play through.
2. Is L.A. Noire a game based on old Noire detective movies where you're basically a detective. Supposedly coming out in 2010. It takes place in 1940's L.A. A screen shot was released today showing a '48-'49 Hudson following what looks like a Tucker.
So these are the known games you can drive a Hudson in to date.
1. Cars - Doc Hudson
2. Mafia - '36 - '37 Terraplane (but grille on it is not totally accurate)
3. Mafia II - '54 Hudson Wasp Sedan
4. LA Niore - '48-'49 Hudson0 -
Have to admit that looks pretty cool. Sure looks like the back end of a Tucker to me. Its a shame my video game attention span is about 10 mins. I have 3 video games that you drive cars I can never last more than 10 mins. Would like to find a game where you just drive the cars around a bit instead of having to compete so much.0

Yeah the graphics on both games are pretty impressive. Actually if either game turns out to be an "open-world" game, you can just drive around the cars and not pay a lot of attention to the story line.0 -
From the graphics, it DOES look pretty cool. Now if they only had a stepdown convertible . . .0

Keep in mind, this was a 5 minute Google search and I didn't find an official list on the official game site. And looking closely, this list is from 2007. And there's obvious errors. But, for what it's worth...
List:

I think I need to buy a PS3 now...
Correction: That is an official list...0 -
Wow I would get Tourismo if it had those models to drive.
I got this game a while back that was put out by Ford for racing. In the description they describe in detail how they had the design team use the actual chassis performance for all the cars in the game. So the physics of the races is supposed to be close to real. So I load up a race and choose a 55 T-Bird and I am going up against 68 Mustang fastbacks and shelby's and I am laughing the T-Bird is driving like a POS. I am having trouble keeping it on the track at high speeds. I think its me, I don't play much. So hand it to my kid she has same problem. So moral of story is do not buy realistic car games as the older cars drive like crap LOL. Learnt my lesson I now race the 2008 Mustang when I use that game at least I can finish in the top 3.0 -
Ah, cars and video games... My favorite moment in Gran Tourismo 2 on the original Playstation was beating a bunch of high-end tuner cars with a giant Plymouth Superbird. Sure, they were quick and nimble but as long as I could keep the back end under control I'd eat 'em up on any straight run of track.
Alright, done reminising about my virtual racing conquests... Think I'm getting my forums mixed up.0 -
It looks like the leading car is a Tucker. Video graphics are amazing these days. It doesn't beat driving the real thing, though.0
-
I heard Gran Tourism wasn't going to have Hudson's in it but we'll see when the game comes out. I do really like my PS3 though and graphics these days are a far cry from Pacman.
Sarah's right it's no substitute for really driving a Hudson but on cold winter nights when you and the car are stuck in doors it's nice to know that some video game companies cared enough to include our favorite Marque in their simulations!!0 -
Yeah, the more I looked the more I question that list. Schoolboy video game excitement got the better of me. Though, it's going to have a NASCAR mode. Maybe we'll luck out and they'll at least put in some historic cars and we'll get to drive Teague's Fabulous Hudson Hornet. I've heard it speculated that GT5 will only come with so many cars on the game disk, with others downloadable later on.
Yeah, can't wait to actually drive mine. But it's also fun to drive the wheels of your favorite car and not have to worry about totaling it.0 -
Here's a video of a '54 Hudson Wasp in the game Mafia 2 In the game they call it a "Houston Wasp" perhaps to avoid copyright issue I don't know You'll also notice a difference in trim on the car but it's unmistakeable what it is. You can drive it and you can change colors and even supercharge the car in the game. I know many on this forum probably won't fire up a video game but I thought you still might like to see it. Sorry about the quality I'll try to find a better way to record than using my camera at some point.
Hudson in Mafia20 -
Cool. On the subject of games, there's one coming out called LA Noire which has you as a detective in 1947 Los Angeles. You start out as a beat cop, and work up through the vice, homicide and arson divisions. I can't say if there are any Hudsons or near-Hudsons though, but getting to roam around 1940's LA would be pretty cool.

LOL Look back through the old posts on this thread. There is a picture of a '48/
49 Stepdown sedan in LA Noire. Also a game I plan on owning.0 -
Well, answers that!
Guess I'll have to breakdown and buy one of them 'powerful' game systems. No one wants to make these games on the Wii.

Here's the latest trailer for the soon to be released detective thriller game LA Noire that recreates 1947 L.A. 45 seconds into it you see a '48 Hudson doing battle with a Buick.

They are pretty accurate as well as the re-creation of 1947 Los Angels0 -
Here are some more pictures from the game I put together of the 46 Super 6 and the 48 Commodore About as clear as I was able to get off my TV0
