Spare Tire Well Fabrication

Well today I worked on the spare tire well. I made an X crease on the floor and I'll add a drain hole there in the center with a rubber plug just in case I ever have some water getting into it.
The first photo shows how I used my work table and a couple of pieces of iron to bend the sheet metal. The second photo shows temporary assembly. The tire was a perfect fit!
Peace,
Chaz

Looks Good!
Where does the jack fit?
It would be nice to get some air lifts a.k.a. Speed Racer!
They do make real ones for race cars...I'd imagine the only thing is that the fail position has to be retracted so there's no chance they'd deploy (a.k.a. Speed Racer) OR then it'd be you repaving Radiator Springs0 -
Yeah, the racer lift jack would be wonderful but alas, I don't have the engineering skills or money to do this.
A Motor Home scissor jack will fit in that space nicely. It can raise the car 24". I am welding small pieces of 1/2" rod about 3" long at the 4 corners of the frame. These act as retainers to keep the jack from slipping off the frame. I did this to my other car and they work great.
Peace,
