41 Shock Mounts

I have a 41 Hudson 4 dr. that I'm doing a restoration on . Have the front end all apart. The shocks were only being held up by the top nut. The bottom was just hanging there .What I need is the lower bracket [that bolts the shock to the A frame] for both sides. Anybody have a set or know where I can get some? Thanks

Last I heard, Doug was out of the shock plates he had made. If no luck you might try to get a copy of the Nov/Dec '07 issue of the Hudson Club Magazine, the White Triangle News (WTN). Andrew Cooper has an article in it on adapting old anti-sway bar bushing clamps as lower shock plates. His idea has the advantage of allowing use of somewhat longer shocks, which are mostly what are out there today. Although done for the to the '47's, the idea should work other years, as well. Walt-LA
  • Walt,

Thanks for the reminder. I receive the HET and read it cover to cover. Dug it out of the pile and found the article. Hadn't pulled the front end apart until now. Looks like a good fix.
