Hornet instrument panel painting
Found a good color for Hornet instrument panel, glove box door, etc. But does not adhere very well. Does chrome need to be roughed up or acid treated to take paint? Degreased and removed waxed with PPG solvent for that purpose. But still not good.
Experience? thoughts? ideas? Thanks, Walt-LA

The chrome finish would have to be chemically removed or sandblasted. I suggest checking with a local plater.0

Walt: If you have access to a sand blast cabinet... tape off the areas that you need protected with duct tape... two thicknesses for best protection. You will be able to blast the thin layer of chrome sufficiently to allow painting. Use a paint adherence enhancer when painting for best adhesion.0
