hudson specific alumunin radiator...
Guys,
forgive me but I lost all the information that had been posted on the Hudson specific aluminum radiators some of you are running. A search did not turn up anything useful.
Do any of you have information about the company that has made some of these drop in Hudson specific aluminum radiators you want to share?
I am going to need disapate the heat created from 60-70 extra horsepower in my Hornet engine this year. the stock radiator is marginal right now and its time to spend that tax refund.
thanks guys,

Personally, i think that you are better off having your original radiator redone and make it a four core. I have been told several times that copper can dissipate the heat better than the aluminum. I guess it all depends on HOW MUCH of your tax refund that you want to spend..:)0

I did have the orginal radiator redone and its fine for the hp I am running
now... I really am looking at the coming higher engine hp and the weight
break I can gain.
I would like to cut the weight back about 20lbs on the front end and
the aluminum radiator is the easy way to do that.
Besides with the engine built the way it is now it runs around 190-200
and when the McCulloch VS-57 gets finished this coming weekend its
going to tax the cooling system even more.
Since I drag race this about 75% of the time with only 25% on road
driving I want the option to rapidly cool the radiator down between
rounds. Found out on my twin turbo mustang that the alum version
cooled down about twice as fast as the copper.
Besides copper is way up there on the $$$ chart right now compaired
to aluminum. Our recycle rate at work almost quadtrippled this year on
scrap copper compaired to the scrap aluminum.
I feel its going to be a cost savings making the switch.

FYI
Personally, I like the Howe Radiator but any Aluminum radiator is good that has WELDED Tanks & Inlet/Outlets. Many Radiator shops wont repair Epoxy built aluminum radiators.. Check the Brands on-line before buying.
I suggest running a 'closed System' too. Consider setting the motor further back for better Wt Bias...0 -
Guys,
thanks for all the help.
I really love the one in Hudson308's car but that is just
a little more $$$ than my wallet holds at the moment.
I'm still looking around and think I have found one that
will easily work while being more reasonable priced.
thanks again,

Hey Racer,
Here is a site you may want to check out. It' Howe Racing. I am using one of their radiators in my"51 Hudson and it's reasonably priced. The one I purchased fit nicely into my radiator core support. Since I have an LS1 engine, I purchased a double pass with both inlet and outlet on the right side.
