This may have already been posted, but received my May issue of Hemmings Classic Car and they have several pages devoted to the light Green 53 Hollywood that was restored by TZ in Pa. The car was at the Pittsburg National and Hershey and has to rank as one of the finest ever.

    I just got my copy in the mail today! I hadn't read this thread yet, so I had a nice surprise waiting for me. I see articles like this, especially in a well circulated magazine, very encouraging. (With my Jet FINALLY in the painting stage, you still need to see fine restoration stories during your own progress to remember that it is all well worth the journey in the end!) With restoration costs often surpassing the value of the vehicle, I always want to commend those who are willing and able to ensure that it isn't just a pretty face lift, but a true restoration done right!     I know that car well. It was owned by the Late Dave Hulka, and I helped his daughter sell it to Mr. Miller. Mr. Miller gave me a personal tour of it at the Pittsburgh National.It cost over $200,000 to restore it like it is.

    That's not hard to believe as I think they said it was like 27 months and 5000 hours. Quality of restoration on this car and the Frazer that was done previous was magnificent. The Frazer was at Hershey while it was in progress and then after it was finished.

    I find it refreshing to see that money spent on a '53 Hudson, rather than another '57 Chevy.

    I would venture to say, that it may have been the finest restored hudson I ever saw. A lot of you guys have spectacular cars, but this one was just the next level, and honestly, they never came from the factory that nice.



    I think we spoke with Mr. Miller, as well as The gentleman and his wife from TZ restoration at Pittsburg and Hershey, and looked at the books of pictures, etc... they really do some spectacular work. All real nice people.



    I couldn't have one that nice, in fear of driving it, ever. but, to each his own....

    Its restoration is to be featured in installments over the next few issues of Hemmings Classic Car. It is being headlined as "How to Build a Perfect Hudson". Awesome work that my restoration will never rival, but if I had his I would be afraid to drive it.
