54 OPTION? It has a vaccuum gage lower dash and
a large, cylindrical, black tank mounted on the inner pas. fender well. I
want to know if it could have come from the factory as an option. The
gage on the dash indicates several things related to economy-driving &
not economical (when the accelerator is on the floor). I really don't like
it and am considering removing it while under restoration; but if you
have any comments, this novice would appreciate them. This car will
be driven and shown.

This is not a Hudson Acc. It is an aftermarket item. It might be a stewart Moto-Minder or a Stewart Warner Vac gauge.

The vac tank on the inner fender should ba about 4-5 in in diam and about 12 inches long. It sholud have a 1/4 inch tube on both ends. The one on the front should stick ought towards the rad while the one on the back should point to the motor. It should be held on with 3 5/16 inch bolts. If this is correct it is a power brake resavoir
