Need Elect Shift Help
Last item to get going, been having too much fun driveing it to worry about it not working. It's a 37 Terraplane. OK, I have the wireing down to the bottom end of the steering column so I can trace back to the switch positions on the steering column., however if there is a diagram of which is which it would'nt hurt. Need to know where all wireing goes to from there on. Am useing the older tranny top cover with the switch mounted on it and operated by the shift tower. Also need the routeing of all of the vacume hoses for the shift solenoids and the vacume clutch. Am missing the mounting brackets for the clutch vac cyl if anyone has one, and rods to the clutch from the vac cyl. Can make these if I have to but bolt ons would be easyeir. Anyone got some schematics showing what wire terminals and what ports the hoses go to ?? Thanks in advance, BudHolmesViolins@Verizon.net

Bud, do you have the shop manual? There is a whole section of many pages, on troubleshooting and repairing the Electric hand, with a diagram. Or are you saying that the diagram isn't enough? (I can't say for sure, but I assume that the Club's reprint of the '34-38 -- or whatever the year -- shop manual contains this information....)0

HI JON, yes I have the shop manual and also one even better that deals with the shift system only. Problem is they go by numbers and or color code and I don't have such. Haveing one somebody allready worked out would save a LOT of time hooking things up time and again to get everything operateing in proper sequence and also eliminate a possable dissaster !! Thanks, Bud0

Bud, could you elaborate on what you meant by: "Problem is they go by numbers and or color code and I don't have such"?
First, I don't seem to have the 1937 wiring diagram in my shop manual -- they goofed and put a radio diagram on that page, for some reason! So I am not able to offer you a diagram. But from what you say, you seem to already have one, except that it shows wire colors or numbers on it. Or are you saying that you only have a diagram that shows the upper part of the system?
I do have the EARLIER version of the electric hand diagram, for the 1935-36 units, which shows quite a lot of detail and actually is in three separate diagrams (illustrating the unit during three stages of its operation). Yet this is the same as what's in the shop manual, which (I think) you indicate you already have.
Hoping to help out, if I can...0 -
HI JON, my shop manual is a redo and not that good, guess I ought to get a better one. Got things in hand now tho, a guy is sending me a diagragm that shows everything in detail. Wireing and the vacume lines. Thanks to Jon and all Bud0

Check out the document I have on Gregg Maroney's web site @ http://www.hudsonterraplane.com/tech/tech_index.htm - click on 1935-1938 Hudson Electric Hand Transmission. While you probably have the info, there might be something you can use.

Thanks Alex, gonna look it up and print it out. I don't think we can ever get too much info. A guy is sending me a diagram with lines following the path of everything. What I have now just says this color or number goes here. That don't work if you don't have the original wireing ! Bud0
