Not the only Hudson!

I went to a car show yesterday at the Riverside municipal airport. There were over 200 cars, just about as many airplanes on display, an estimated 92,000 spectators, and TWO HUDSONS! I have gotten used to having the only Hudson around at the local shows, and apparently so have many of the regulars, because I had at least twenty people come tell me that there was another Hudson there. And they say Pontiac builds excitement!:D

The "other" one was an unfinished, lowered and mildly customized, chopped '49 coupe. I didn't get to talk to the owner (couldn't find him) but he had a club plaque for the "SoCal Shifters" in the back. It looked to be a great start of a cool car.

I also met a really nice guy (that was proudly wearing a H.E.T. t-shirt) named Lee Odell, who has a '46 Hudson P/U. I hope this is the start of the Hudsonites coming out of the woodwork in So Cal!

There are a lot of them "hiding in the weeds" in metropolitan L. A. - one in Simi has a '29 E rd., a '46 S6 conv. with Hornet engine, and a '48 C8 conv., the last 2 having been professionally restored!
