Hudson Hornet Neon Sign
Anyone seen one these before? Can't be too many. I bought it so it's going on a wall in the bar.

You see some neon signs still (mostly "Open" signs), but I suppose they are mass produced. I wonder if its becoming a "lost art"? Seems like a guy could make a few bucks, given the prices of these things when they come up. Anybody know anything about the state of the "art" of neon sign making?0

Making a custom neon sign would be neat but I'm sure it would be VERY expensive with modern labor, etc. Also, value is in the rarity and collectibility.
Be interesting to see what it would cost to produce twenty Hudson signs for resale.0 -

I can have these made in Pittsburgh for 600.00 including transformer. Duplicate of original I had that was broken. Originally, they were made to hang inside window or on wall. For protection, I had it mounted on smoke plexiglass, as it is too large to display inside my garage front window.0 -
I don't recall seeing the "HUDSON HORNET" sign before, wonder if was an AMC "Hash" sign?
Wonder if it works?0 -
Right on it being a hash sign, Pete.0

Don't rain on my parade...LOL . Hope not but it says "Hudson Hornet" so I'm good with it regardless. When I get it, I'll check the transformer and see if has any dates or info on it.0 -
Your Vintage Hudson Hornet Neon Sign will surely stand out inside your Bar and bring comments.
If was mine I would laminate a large colorful Hudson Poster at Staples for the background, perhaps a Hudson Stock Car..
If interested PM me I might have a picture you could have to enlarge..0 -
How many new repros you want at say $350 a lick up front ?0

I Would Have A Plastic Or Unbreakable Glass Covering It Up. Even The Best Of Bars Get A Jerk Once Awhile.0

Interesting to see how this came up and available. Mine has the original frame which allows it to hang on the showroom room window. I can't see this in your photo's. Does yours have this?0

That's a fantastic sign. I collect vintage neon (as well as cars) and I've never run across one of those before. Great score!0

Yes it has a glass frame that allows it to hang form a window. It is a really cool neon sign. If anyone is intersted in it out right let me know Id let it go for $6000

If you want to make your own custom neon sign, these guys will do it.

Honestly, looks like the sign has been redone or is newer manufacture? New transformer, the mounting is not period correct and the gray color wrappings (that block the neon light (between the letters) on the neon look new?0

I didn't see this until after the auction ended. Was it a successful sale? If not, let me know I'd be interested in it.0 -
