:confused:I tried removing the headlight lens on my '37 terraplane yesterday to no avail. I followed instructions , the lens did move about an eigth of an inch, but I did not want to push my luck. I did have in place pillows and blankets, it did not work as planned so I decided to change the bulb in the dome light, again puzzled, I pushed the lens, tried turning it, even tried to turn the housing, again to no avail. I would appreciate any advice and help. This car is seventy plus years old and I do not want to break anything. Thanks in advance, Arnie

There have been a couple threads on this subject in the last month or two, here's one: http://www.classiccar.com/forums/showthread.php?t=13469&highlight=1937 . Are you sure the screw (at bottom of headlight shell) is backed out all the way? Just remove, to be sure.

As for the headlights, remove the screw on the bottom. Or at least remove it past the first set of threads and let it dangle. Sometimes it is hard to get it past the second set. For the dome light, the lense is held in place by a ring that fits into a grove in the dome light housing. The ring is hard to see and harder to remove becuse it can be stuck into the housing. try to get something under the retainer ring and pry it our carefully. Again with lots of blankets around. once you get the ring out and it goes flying the lense dtops right out.
