Centerpoint Steerig Fix?

Who sells the centerpoint steering bushings for the Step-Downs? A fellow phoned me to ask aoub this '53 Hornet, and I didn't find anything in the WTN about it.

  • At almost any bearing supply house Torrington BH 1616 these are a tad longer than the stock ones that Hudson supplied, but do work. I believe the stock length ones are Torrington BH 1612. As always put the seal end part of the bearing assembly towards the outside, away from the grease fitting. Also if you need to shim the centerpoint, VW bug generator/alternator pulley shims will work with a small enlargement of the center hole. Happy Trails Lou Cote :)
