Rearview mirror

I have a 37' Terraplane model 71. A couple of days ago the gentleman who owned my car before me came over with this mirror. He purchased the car when he was 15. He had been looking in his garages for almost 4 years now for this mirror. It looks just like the mirror I bought from Robbie Williams, but this one has a clock on the right side with a pull chain to wind it. I'm trying to find information on this item. Was it an accessory, add on or what? Anyone have one of these or any info on it? I wound it and it ticks. I think it is pretty cool and would like to restore it.

It was an accessory, pretty rare one at that. I can't tell you whether it is original Hudson or not but is definitely a period piece.

I owned a 37 Hudson Six Touring sedan a few years ago. The rear view mirror in that car had a clock in it. I was told that it was a Hudson accessory.
