A quick fix for loose doors
I have a '48 where the driver's and front passenger doors do not quite close. It looks like the strikers (pieces mounted on the pillar) are a bit worn. The rear doors work fine as they have not been used as much. The door latches in front are slightly bent or worn as well.
I switched the front and back strikers, matching a good striker with a worn latch, and good latch with worn striker on each side of the car.
It worked! All 4 doors close now.
I will still look into K-Gap for new strikers. But this is a good quick fix if you're tired of shakey doors.
Hope this helps someone;

Make sure that when you change these around that they are actually closing on the second detent of the door. I have seen many cars that are adjusted to close on only the first...0

It's also important to keep the screws tight.. Sometimes you have to look at the bottom of the striker plate to make sure the bottom of that pot metal base hasen't cracked. Sometimes they are in which case you need another striker plate.0
