    FYI

Maybe I can help simplify posting Pictures by Printing these Steps...

1st Save your Picture(s) on your Desktop and size it down to 97 KB max using your Computer 'Photo Express'

    Log in Forum,

Click 'Advance' (at Bottom), then scroll way down to 'Manage Attachments'.

Click 'Browse'(To find your Picture) then Click UpLoad, Wait for name of picture you selected from Desktop to appear in Red,

Then go to bottom of Screen and Click 'Close this Window.

There may be other ways too...
  • When I click on manage attachments nothing happens.

I just tried it again and 'Manage Attachments' brings up a smaller Screen on my Computer to insert pictures...

Perhaps try Typing a few words (about the Picture you will insert) in the 'Reply Section' first Then Click Manage Attachments.. I have had to do that sometimes before permitting Attachment to Open.
  • Tried that

Here's a copy of Dave Solon's instruction from some time ago.:):)

Here's how to post photos if you don't have a Website to store them on:

    1. Save your photo as a jpeg. at 72 dpi, about 4 x 6" in size. save it somewhere where you can easily find it, like your desktop.

    2. Click on "New Thread" on this site.

    3. When your ClassicCar posting box appears, scroll down to "Manage Attachments." Click on "Manage Attachements."

    4. A new dialog box appears. The top option is "Upload file from your computer." Click on "Browse" and find the photo you saved.

    5. Click on "Upload" to the right of the "browse" window.

    6. Wait until the name of your photo appears in red above the words "Attachment key" If your photo is too large, the system will tell you.

    7. Close the "Manage Attachments" box. The name of your photo will appear in red in the "Attach Files" space below your ClassicCar posting box.

    8. Type your message. You can click "Preview Post" to see your photo and message.

    9. Post your message and photo

  • My attempts to attach pictures is being blocked by a program on my computer called TIDY, it is attempting to validate the HTML for the manage attachments prompt and sees an error on the page so it won't let me go any farther. What a pain.

You can also go about it a different way:

Instead of directly loading photos to your posting here on the Forum, you can upload photos to either Classiccar's PHoto Gallery or the Hudson club's Photo Album Site. Once they are somewhere on the internet, just capture the URL of the particular photo, and post it right in with your message here on the Forum.

The Club's photo site is at http://groups.msn.com/HudsonEssexTerraplaneBulletinBoard/_whatsnew.msnw

The Classiccar photo site is accessed by clicking the link waay up at the top of this page.

Once you have the photo posted on the internet, simply place your mouse pointer over the photo, right-click, then left-click the word PROPERTIES from the small box that opens up. Then copy the gibberish next to LOCATION, and post that (URL) in the photo box when you go to post a message. The photo box appears when you click the little yellow box that appears along with the boldface, italic, underlined, etc. icons in your posting "form".
  • I'm beginning to think I'm like a distributer setting, retarded. I get to the forum photo gallery and have to register for that but I can't find any info on how to post photos. It's a good thing it's raining here today, otherwise I would have an excuse for not staying inside to figure this all out. I don't even have a good picture to post, I just don't like not being able to do it.

  • Dang, what a project this has become, just getting the picture uploaded I mean.

Did a famous person say 'If at first dont succeeed try try again' usually works out (Persistence helps too)...
  • I don't think it is worth all the trouble. jehm51
  • Fellows, there is an easier way. And the pictures are bigger.

Go to www.photobucket.com and open up an account. It is free, and I've had an account for several years--just ignore the ads it's free and there are no side effects.

Upload whatever pictures you want from your computer into your photobucket account (it's essentially a computer photo album.)

After picking a photo you want on the forum, go below the picture right click on the IMG box, highlight it, then copy it. Go to the forum (I minimize these two sites so I don't have to wait for the site to come back up) and just copy this gobbly -gook text to the message box.

Hit the submit box and check out you photo. You can practice with the spacing between your text and your photo. I can walk you through it a little slower if you want to PM me. I wanna see your cars.

    Good luck...:)

  • The Photobucket thing usually works great for me. I have an album for my Hudson and Dodge projects.
