yes, have to agree with your analysis, LOL.

Guy has added a 0 to his price, proving he's "smoking"?
  • If he was offered $90,000--certainly two fools meet--one for offering that much and the other for not giving up the title.
  • ha ha ha. I think there's an extra zero in there by mistake.

    Niels-

Did you burn up your back pocket while whipping out the checkbook?:D

You know, when we sold the '32 and were asking over 6 figures, we spent about 3k in marketing and advertising. Had I been smarter, I could've just put a couple pics on Craigslist and been done with it . . . silly me!

Don't think so. Says he turned down a fully restored Vette and he also listed the price a couple times so no mistake. He's dropping acid.
  • I sent him the following email to see what's up:

Confirm the price is actually $9,500 and NOT $95K??? If you indeed mean $9,500, I'd be interested. If it's $95K, you'll be owning it for a long time!!! Thanks - Patrick

We'll see. Hell, if that is a $95K car, my '37 should be worth around $400K or so!

He's funny, though. $95K and the car "needs some electrical work, gas gauge and clock do not work, blah blah blah"
  • Here is the guy's reply ---

thank you for your interest price is correct.have more than what you are offering in it.thanks for your offer,I hope I own it for another 50 years.Jeff

Definitely someone who does recreational pharmaceuticals, or watches WAY too much B-J auction reruns on Speed!

He was certainly a fool for passing up that alleged "deal"!!!
  • Just about all the car's that roll off Barrett-Jackson have been repainted, but they still claim it's all orignal. This Hudson has never been repainted, because it really is a original.Thank's for your interest.I drive this car about every other week and it makes the older generation light up with smiles and good memories of days gone by.The Hudson collector that seen it said he had not seen one being so orginal on the road in over 30 year's.Thank you for your kindness gotten alot of bad replies on my ad.

This is his response to my inquiry. He is stuck on the original paint as the key to the value of the car.

This was my message to him:

    Dear Sir:

Are you sure of your asking price of $95,000.00? This is just short of one hundred thousand dollars.

No Hudson has ever sold for that much, even at Barrett-Jackson.

Is there something special about this car? Was it owned by the President of Hudson? Was this car

used in a movie or other special event like hauling royalty?

I look forward to your response. This car has definitely piqued my interest.

    Excuse me!!!!

It has a short somewhere and the battery needs to be disonnected????

I think that means 95,000 but it won't run.

My battery is 8 volt and it doesn't need to be disconnected, just juiced up every now and then.

I've done all that, that he lists to my car, except I don't have a paint job with flames.....Is that some kind of flames on the fenders... This guy must have some funny smoke around him someplace.

As Bugs Bunny says"What a Maroon!!

P:S: My gas gauge works, even if it is in the trunk.
  • Oh, I was going to ask him if the "flames" were original Hudson paint, too, dang!

    Dude's on crack.

:eek:The present owner of this "one of a kind" 51 Hudson Pacemaker might as well ask 2 or 3 hundred thousand dollars for this "fine" car. Perhaps the "candy" he is on has gone up with inflation and he just has to cover the increased expense. He can keep the car for fifty more years, but by then it will have more than a dead battery, and some other ailmants. Perhaps he listed the car for a good laugh. I remember when someone would actually pay to have a car like this hauled away. Well, enjoy and we need more humorous ads such as this. Arnie
