update from the twin h ranch
I Notice The 53 Conv On Ebay Is Now Over 100 Grand. I Have 6 Converts All In Better Condition Than This One And For A Lot Less Money. I Guess I Will Have To Start Selling On E Bay. My Health Is Steadily Deteriorating And Have Been Greatlly Dissapointed In This Business, But Not The Hudson People. I Have Finally Realized My 41/47 Fender Light Project Has Been A Rip Off And I Have Lost Over 8000.00 Dollars So Far With No Hope Of Recovery. Takes A Lot Of Used Ten Dollar Parts To Make Up 8 Grand Hqv3 2 Cars In Different Paint Shops And If I Live Long Enough To Finish Tehse, They Will Be The Last Ones I Do. I Hope The Albright Award Will Give Some Of You Younger Guys An Incentive To Keep It Going. I Am All But Burnt Out, Hudsonly Bill Albright

Hi Bill...Sorry to hear about your health and hope it gets better. I will have a couple extra days off work next weekend and if your at your ranch maybe I could come buy and have a look around ? Take care, Ron0 -
Bill, I hated to read about your disapointment in your posting. You are a credit to the Hudson community and I know I can speak for everyone when I say your retirement will be hard on us all. I've never met you, but you have helped me find parts for my 34 Coupe when no one else could! I've read the numerous postings garnishing thanks from the many people who were helped by you or had the pleasure of meeting you. Place your cars on Ebay and make the money you deserve! Someone would be lucky to have one of your professionally restored vehicles. Enjoy yourself and keep us all informed on how things are going. Thanks again for all you've done for the Hudson community! Walt0

Bill, I'm really sorry you've had a bad time with the repro project. What happened?
Maybe things will look a bit better tomorrow. C'mon out to Hershey and set a spell with us in the booth, like last year. Maybe we can "hoist one" and commisserate. Life's bummers are a little more bearable with good friends standing by...and you have a lot of them!0 -
Bill
You have been a leader in keeping the Hudson Marque alive for those of us who do not make our daily bread via Hudson resurrection.
I know you are tired of the sell high and buy low attitudes of lots of the public. Personnally I do not know how you have kept going as the margins get thinner and you personally battle the effects of time and age.
Thank you for all you have done for the wider good of the Hudson Club, Marque and each person you have personnally helped. Sharing with me on the oft occassion we have crossed paths has always been a positive experience and I hope you know I appreciate you.
Best wishes and please devote time to keeping yourself well.

Don't despair, you have touched so many people, and made them happy , take solice in that, you have done so much for this club, it had been exceptal, Just turn the page and keep on motoring the Hudson way

Bill, I agree, you have much better cars for sale than the one that went on ebay. I know you aren't feeling well, that dialysis is enough to wear a guy out. I was sorry you weren't in the other day when I came by, that 50 Eddie was working on looks like it will be another good one. I'm still trying to figure out how to buy that 49 with the tri power on it. Get me out of that $10 at a time class.

I just wanted to reflect the sentiment of all the others who posted here and offer my little bit of "thank you" for all you have done for Hudsons. I keep sayin' "one of these days" about meeting you personally and seeing some of the results of all your hard work.
Guess for now all I have to offer is "hang in there, man". Too bad that you are not more rewarded for what you do..0 -
Bill, Buzz and I enjoyed having lunch with you when we were up a couple of weeks ago looking for the side mount parts. I know that you expressed your discouragement about your health and seemed pretty down. I am sure that dialysis is pretty damn discouraging, but it beats the alternative. I do hope that you attend the National as planned.
For my part, I would just like to say that you were the first person in the club that I went to in 1994 when I got my '36T and I wouldn't been able to restore it without all of the parts and encouragement and advice that you have provided to me and countless others in the club. You have made it possible for many of us to get our Hudsons back on the road, which I know is your goal, to get as many of these great cars back on the road as possible. So hang in there my friend and be as well as you are able to be. You have a lot friends in this club.0 -
:)Bill
I hope that your health improves and that you feel better.
Rest easy that you're much appreciated for having given of yourself to help others in their search for realizing the HUDSON dream. You've furthered our membership by including a HET membership form in the glovebox of all cars sold by you. Your generosity is unmatched with your establishment of the $25K Albright Award Fund, which we should add to, to insure that it remains intact.
You've always been fair, honest and helpful. You've given of yourself to further our hobby and our love for our cars by going beyond a source of cars and parts to a source of inspiration and caring.
You're an Everest of men...but it hasn't gone to your head...you're a modest man that always makes time and welcomes all visitors (even a Hudson tenderfoot) to the Twin H Ranch. You're definitely a legend in your own time. I always feel special when I'm in your company.
Thank you for being there for us, Hudsonly, Carl0 -
What can one say about a guy like Bill,he's just all around the best. My hope is that his health improoves and he has many more yrs to lay back and observe all that he has influenced in the world of Hudson. HANG IN THERE BILL, just lay back and let the rest bust butts while you continue to keep us on the right track, both with our cars and what life is all about.. BUD0

Bill , your certainly an inspiration to all of us in the Hudson hobby , heres wishing you the best !!0

thanks for all the kind comments, i really appreciate them. i guess i will never retire as i wouldnt know what else to do but i am definitely going to slow down had another promise on the fender lights, so hope is alive although really slow project. again, MANY THANKS BILL ALBRIGHT0
-
Bill, I tried to retire once and failed miserable at it. People like us have to have something to do with ourselves. Let Jay and Eddie do the hard work and you keep leading them and answering questions for guys like me. Hopefully the fender lights will work out for you. I don't know what the project is though so if you get a chance tell us what it is.

what ever road you go down from now on i would just like to let you know in my mind you are legendary. i come on this site every day. don't post much and i don't look at every post either. there are some of you guys that i look at every one of your post and you are one of these guys. you have had a great hudson life matched by few. i hope it continues. i think the club needs every one of the people on this site no matter your opinion, its what makes the club go. thanks bill for all you have done and what ever you decide to do from here on.0

Bill,
One of the highlights of, at least, the Pittsburg National in 2004 was getting to meet the legendary Mr. A. I may have met you before, but memory fails.
As I am also one who has had several projects going with little interest I share your frustration. I know some of my stuff is of interest only to a narrow audience - for example, the General Handbook; if somebody has a 1953 Hudson, they may not be interested in other years.
But it's still frustrating - even tho compliments from some do help keep the projects going.
Here's wishing you well - just restore a Hudson once or twice a year. You don't have to restore ALL of them.
As the man says - hang in there, Fridays coming.
Hudsonly,
Alex Burr

Bill, thank you for all your help and advice. I wish you well and hope that with your backing away a bit will help your health. You have been such a great help to the Hudson world. It's always been wonderful visiting with you whenever I came out to the ranch.
Best regards,
