'51 fender mounted rockets spacing?
OK, I have 2 different front fenders on my '51 and I am test fitting my top of fender rockets. Come to find out, the left fender has its first hole 2" from the chrome headlamp ring and the right fender is almost 3". Which is the correct spacing for the first mounting hole from the headlamp ring? Or are they both wrong? Can anyone post some pics of the top of their fenders with a ruler from the headlamp ring to the rocket? Any help would be great!

Dave,
The fender rocket on the '51 Hornet is located behind the front wheel well, and is lower than on later models. Sounds as though you have '52,'53 fenders. Send a PM with an email address and I'll send a photo of a '51 if someone else can't post here. My avatar shows if you can make it out. Walt-LA0 -

Hi Walt,
I am referring to the tubular rockets or "spears" on the tops of the fenders, NOT the side Hornet rocket emblems. They mount on the upper most part of the fenders.0
