...took SECOND place in my class (pre-'50)!!! And I was up against a pair of street rod Mopars, a '35 Plymouth sedan and a '36 Dodge four-door, both with Chrysler drivetrains (NO SBC!!!)

There were over 80 cars and trucks there, and something for everybody, from the old cars, rods, musclecars, modern cars, and a couple of trucks, too. A fine day! Got to explain to more than one person what a Terraplane is, too. There was a pretty robust AMC class, too, which had two Mets, a '60 Jeep wagon, a Gremlin, an AMX, and a Matador.

Yeah, I plan on putting the running boards on this week. Next weekend, I'm going to El Reno, OK for a Route 66 cruise and picnic - there are usually 500 cars that show up, and it's limited to pre-1980 cars and trucks.

  • Nice lookong car. Are you bringing it to El Reno? I would really like to get a close look at it.

  • Yep, it'll be out there. Bring some cash, you might be able to make it yours!
  • Sorry, all cashed out, got most of my money tied up in a 35 Terraplane coach.

But if you could turn mr on to an engine, prefer a 37T, I could be made to part with some money, maybe.

  • Might be a 212 coming up for sale, I'll have to check on that. Not mine, though!
  • Thanks.

    A 212 with side mount dist would work, Hudson/Terraplane 35-39 I think.

I've been to a MOPAR only show before.... just told the guys at the gates the history of Hudson and the family lineage and the fact that Chrysler now owns the rights to the Hudson name and poof I had the oldest and most looked at car there. Because all the other MOPARS were muscle cars. They even put me on one of the dealerships' front platforms.

    Hudson/Nash Kelvinator > AMC/Jeep > Chrysler = LET ME IN!

I think if I'm not mistaken there might be some connection through the much earlier family tree of Chalmers Detroit..... which the Hudson founders came from but I don't have my books in front of me.
