A V-8 might be nicer but its still a nice one. I have a beat up daily driver Dodge Dakota with a V-6 that runs pretty good but still like the V-8. Gas mileage in the V-6 is only 13.5 town & 17 highway.

I agree, a V-8 has more appeal, but if you're gonna do a V-6, it would be hard to make a better choice than the GM 3.8L- maybe the best V-6 ever made. I had two '88 Buick Park Avenues with that engine- ran forever, good power and acceleration, got 24+ MPG consistently, combined driving.0 -

Dang Ron, I get that with my 318 v8 Ram 4WD !! The guy is right about the GM V6 vortex engine, had one and had to sell it cause of just too many wheels in the drive,and I sure do miss it .Brother-in-law now enjoying it and loves it .0 -

Thats' what I have in my 29 Essex, had a ride in a 29 Ford with one and it has enought for my cruiser, 4barrel eldebrock, intake and cam, also a good set of headers and mufflers0
