Pinion gear nut removal

My pinion gear seal is leaking and needs to be replaced. Can the tool mentioned in the repair manual needed to hold the universal joint attachment in place (in order to remove the nut) still be purchased? If not, has anyone made one or knows of suitable replacement (other than a large pipe wrench)?

Thanks,

Jason

A large pipe wrench with a piece of wood at both jaws and an 1/2 inch air wrench. Use a puller to remove the yoke for if you use a hammer it could bend the ends. Walt.
