You might be the first!
By the way, there is probably supposed to be a drain gutter (metal or possibly waterproof fabric) under there to keep the water from....well...rusting and rotting out the stuff under the window. So be sure to replace or reproduce it before you finish!0 -
I just did a restoration (actually I am still doing a restoration) of a '36T sedan. I took my wood 1/4 windows to a local car restorer and he advised me to permeate the wood with a resin product to stabilize it and re-install. Now mine had no wood rot, they were just loose and pretty beat up looking. The product that I used on these and the other wood in my Terraplane is: West Sysem 105 resin. It uses a hardener. I obtained this at a marine supplier (I live near San Diego.) It worked fine. Be sure to replace the gutter and the drain hoses, per Jon's advice above. I found that I needed to use two different size hoses as one with the proper inside diameter to go on the gutter was to thick in outside diameter to go down through the body. So I joined them with an 90* elbow. I also took the time to install sound proofing insulation in that section of the body while I was at it.0

My two 1936Ts have fixed 1/4 windows (no wind out window) and so have no metal gutters. I guess I have the cheaper standard models. Ive found 2 wrecks that had the gutters and it took me a few years to find out what they were for.0

That may be one of the differences between the series 61 and the series 62. My series 62 1/4 windows crank open and they do have the gutters.0

My gutters are off and in excellent shape, it is just the wooden bottom of the frame turned to dust when I removed the window.0

Do you have enough of it to use as a pattern to create a new one? If not email me, I may have a source of these for you.0
