C8 finally brings home a trophy

I finally got my '50C8 out of storage last week and cleaned it up for the local SPCA car & truck show. This year it was open to all makes and years so the majority of the cars were 90's or newer but a few old timers, mostly muscle car types. My neighbor has a '49 C8 so we went to the show together. The organizers this year were new so they set up class trophies for Each of the GM car makes, less Cad., Ford, Mopar, etc. so as usual there were no slots for the orphans. In addition to the Hudsons a couple of AMXs showed up but that was it for the orphans. I have never gotten a trophy at a local show, it is typically dominated by the Camero, Mustang, SBC street rod crowd, but I do get a lot of compliments. So when it came time for trophies, to my surprise the Hudson got best engine! The announcer said I have done a lot of shows, Goodguys and many others and I can't remember seeing one of these, a Hudson straight 8. So chalk one up for Hudson! Actually it was funny, there was only one Buick and no Oldsmobiles, so there were more Hudsons at the show than either of these!!!! Who would a thunk it!
