  • Ron, thanks for thinking of us . I live in Iowa and we have all the water we will need for along time to come . My shop were i keep my 37 Terraplane i had to throw a few sandbags in front of the big door to keep water out but we are pretty lucky as compared to others. I think we are going to have a week of rain free days and that will help. Chuck G.
  • Thanks for the thoughts....also in Des Moines area, and boy does this really through a wrench in things!!!

I went down by Ole Missy yesterday here in Memphs, to have lunch at a riverside park, and I was looking at the trees alongside the river. Most of the park, really a wide spot between the road and the river with a nice walk way, is built on a levee, but you can walk down to the river itself.

Anyway, I noticed the high water marks from last Mar-Apr's flooding, so after I finished my lunch I walked down the banking to the rivers edge. The trees, at the moment are about 1 to 2 feet above the river - the high water mark is 7 feet. So, that means we had 7 to 9 feet of water in front of the levee last spring.

I'm very lucky to be living on high ground, here in Memphis, about a mile from Old Missy - if my neighborhood floods all of Memphis and probably most of Eastern Arkansas is going to be under a lot of water.

We will continue to keep all of you in the flood areas in our thoughts and prayers.
