I thought I've seen reproduction rear glass available from Bob's Classic Auto Glass onebay - I think he's physically located in Oregon.

I just checked ebay but only see front Glass - I'm pretty sure you can get all new glass these days

  • I have the small window rear glass in my '50 Pacemaler. I bought another rear glass from another member to have as a spare. Since I do not plan to chop mine, I'll just use my original. Do yours use the large rear glass? Maybe someone around here has a spare they can sell you?

I can't remember for sure, but, I thought I read once that someone used a VW rear window on a chooped Hud coupe before. Not sure if that might be an option, though probably only if you're going very custom.
  • the 51 coupe has a window of its own . no other year or body style will fit .

There are places that make custom glass - normally you need to provide a template made from aluminum and shaped to fit with an english wheel.

Here's a link to an outfit that makes polycarbonate shields for racing applications...might be a cool option for racers or customizers - 1/2 the weight of glass and 250x stronger!

Isnt the rear window in a cpe the same from '51 to '53?
  • I think 52-54 coupe is the same and 51 coupe is a one year only. "Lucky" is the guy who saved one!

Or, you can do the same thing with ABS and a heat gun. Cheaper, and faster.
  • last time i checked custom glass windows run about $3k. id be checking with bobs first.
