July Denver auction

Just got OCW with 1 page add of various cars to be offered, 3 of which are Hudsons: a '35 H6 sd., a '39 BB PU, and a '29 H dual cowl phaeton.

One of the sponsors of the auction is long time HETer John Soneff. I'm not sure if the '35 is his but I know the '39 BB PU is - it has a new Jet engine & o.d. + some other non-original things done to it. He drove it to the National in S. D. a few years ago.

The most interesting, & by far the most valuable is the '29 dual cowl. This one was "lost" many years ago when bought by a guy from Wyo. It had belonged to Denver collector & HET member (think he still has a '33 T8 conv. & maybe a Railton), Zach Brinkerhoff. Zach auctioned it off many years ago & since then it has remained "lost" in Wyo. This Hudson, one of the most sought after & rare, was at the Denver National many years ago parked beside John's '29 H club sedan - sure a stunning pair!

John tends to "highlight" a few Hudsons at auctions in which he's involved. Often he does what you say, puts high reserves on them hoping someone will "bite". He was the "local" for Kruse auctions in Denver for many years.

Unless he bought the dual cowl, which he'd only do if he thought he could "turn" it for a good profit, I think it's on consignment from the Wyo. owner (you can see it has Wyo. plates) who has owned it for at least 20 years.
