I thought you may be interested in this.



Recently we had a gathering of our HET Club to celebrate 80 Years of the 1927/28 models but all were welcome!

A great weekend was had with members coming from as far away as 250 miles. We had a local run of approx 100 miles on the day then gathered for an evening meal. The next day most met again over morning tea at our local club rooms.

The group picture shows mostly 1928 models (Essex coaches & Coupes plus one Hudson 7 seater) with a 1927 Coach and 1929 Coupe.

The other photo is of a "barn find" that the new owner collected on the same weekend. The 1928 Essex sedan had been on blocks for over 35 years. It is a very complete and sound car with some interesting mods in the engine bay.

    We drove 100 miles to get to a great weekend with 6 coupes in the one place even with one of mine still being at the engine reconditioners!! Several of the cars were new to me & some were at a club run for the first time.

    Thanks to Ernie28's owner Alistair for being the prime mover in organising this.

    Palmerston North. It belonged to his uncle, a midget car racer & great mechanic in previous days.

    Alistair and Dave , imagine if we could get all the years together in 1 place at 1 time it would be a site, Big thanks to Alistair for all his efforts putting this together

    We might be a small country but we are definitly big when it comes to our cars

    Thanks Mike - any excuse for a gathering - within reason:) When you get your car on the road we should do another one further north.

    I know of one couple anyway but there may well be more. Unfortunately I will not be one of them, much as I would like to. :(

    I hope to come but as I'm no longer working, finances will dictate!!:confused:
