Thanks for all your input on the babbitt question. Looks like it's Harkin's machine in Watertown, SD. I can drive the stuff over there--that's just considered to be a little early morning run up here in the wide open spaces.
My mechanic just called and has finished installing the new Y and Z wiring harness and the wonder of it all is that everything works including the Overdrive which didn't work before he started.
He says the engine sounds fine in spite of the look of those mains so I'll drive it a bit and decide if it needs new babbitt.
Now--I need an oil pressure sending unit. Are these available at NAPA or another local parts house or ????????
