:)I have a '49 Hudson Commodre 6 that has been sitting for the past 15 years since a rod decided to make a sudden exit near the starter motor. Anyway it left a big hole and the car was put aside as a someday project. That someday is approaching and I have a fairly good 232 engine for it, but would much rather have a 262. Any one have a good used 262 out there in Hudson land? I have had this particular Hudson since 1970 and it really served me well. Now it is in need of a lot of work but it deserves it. There is a 1952 Hudson Pacemaker on eBay which has a running 262 with 2 lever overdrive for 600 dollars... seller could deliver the car too.

not entirely sure that the pacemaker on eBay is going to be saved to keep that 7000+ original production pacemakers alive, from 52...



looks a little rusty, but the seller said he could include the frame parts, and good quarters, so who know?



anyway, the best part of the auction is the questions to the seller....

I noticed no one bid on this. I would have thought the value fo the core engine, transmission and rear end would have been worth the base asking price.

Fellas you are all failing to see that this is being done already...

Bill Albright has this going on at the Twin H ranch. He and his grandson are taking in the stray Hudsons and bringing them back to life or dismantling them for to do the same for others... And this list goes on... the real problem is folks who are doing this are aging or succumbing to the costs involved...

The start of this thread was a need for a cheap engine. Well eBay produced a running engine with 2 lever Trans in a car. The car was For Sale due to the quantity of Hudsons the seller has and more importantly the theft and vandalism being suffered. The later has become rampant due to a popular car hobbyist magazine running a letter to the editor which identified the seller’s storage location.

So... buy the ones you can ... and if you can not well, they will get crushed along with their cousins of AMC, GMC, FORD marques. The cost of being a Hudson person is getting more expensive... too bad someone did not buy that PMaker... a running car with minimal rust and all the parts to fix... for less than $1K... A deal not to be seen again soon I bet.

Off the crate... need to eat some of the apples there in.
