Steering changes 53 Hornet ?
Has any one switched the left and right wheel to change the steering to the front? I have a 53 HH sedan with a chevy small block and was thinking that if the steering could be changed to the front so that there could be a power steering added with the box moved further to the front to activate maybe a ford rack & pinion? Has this been attempted? Don't know about the clearance in the front. Thought about a chevy steering power steering unit. Maybe a chevy or ford tie rod (full length) could be adapted with the correct pitman arm.
Car is still in the paint shop so don't know if will have it ready for the nationals. I will try to post more pics soon. Thanks John H

Always anxiously awaiting the pics. In the meantime, why would you want to change the center point steering for a "conventional" one? If the power steering option is your driving factor, why not just add power steering from a '54? Easier than switching your steering linkage, etc.
Out of the scores of different automobiles I've had the pleasure of driving, I have yet found a system better than Hudson's center point configuration. Hands down, no contest. Or is the steering in the way of the V-8?
If that's the case, you should contact Rambo here on the forum and see what his plans are as he is dropping a big block in his '49.0
