51 Pacemaker Coupe F/S and parts

I have a 51 Pacemaker Coupe I can't see myself getting to. It's a shell -- the seat material is barely there, the door panels are stained and/or torn, etc. Barn Fresh. No rust except the surface rust you see in the pictures and a 2" hole on the A pillar. Seized 232. Glass fogging and needs replacement. Basic stuff all there: ash tray, window cranks, signals, lenses and lamps, radio, trunk insignia/lamp, hood ornament, etc. Needs total resto or good parts car for another P-maker/Wasp. $500 if you come up on a sunny afternoon to Canada to pick it up -- a nice drive from Western New York, Pennsylvania, Ohio or Michigan (1 hour west of Toronto, Canada).

Well, Hudsonkid, there's your SWB coupe, giveaway price, close to home!

Hey, Faustmb, you beat me by less than a minute!:D
  • Where in Canada are you?..its a big place.
  • ooops looks like 1 hr west of Toronto.....darn, too far for me.
  • How much delivered?.......lol
  • this is what I'm looking for, never the best timing, but I guess I need to ask the questions....

    1) Is there a title for this car?

    2) What is involved with getting a car with a canadian title, transfered to a US title?

    3) What is involved in getting a car from Canada across the border, into the US? (passport? licenses, fees?)

I seriously mean this is my dream car, I just wished it was in the US, or closer, the price is great.
  • 1. Canada does not have title like US

    2. Bring it across as non-running 50 year plus parts car(no probs just have complete bill of sale with your info and sellers info)

    3. You do not need a passport to cross border by ground transport until 2009. I do not know about fees but I do not think there are any taxes US side unless State tax on goods.

Just came the opposite way with a parts car and having an itemized bill of sale with buyer and sellers info meant I was held up about 20 mins. Paid my taxes ...yeah we get screwed....and off I went...

I would go for this its cheap and you will not find one in this shape very often. Get Hudsondad to go with you....
  • actually 1 and 2 are not necessarily a problem. I would think this one would assume a new identity, albeit another 51 pacemaker coupe.

I really like this car, just finding a place to put it, and going to and from is a major issue, right now.

I can relate to that. That's why my truck sat at my brothers for a year. It didn't really fit at the time but I decided to go for it. It cost over $700 in gas alone to fetch it last week. Thats a lot of parts money :( I don't regret it yet, but it's still sitting non-running as well.

If I were still in NY I'd been after that coupe. Would've been a few hours one way.
