head interchangeability

Hello,

Can a '37 Terraplane head be used on a '41 6 cyl.

    John, whilst the head gaskets are the same, I think there are slight differences around the back of the head, where the distributor is mounted. The later head has a stud for mounting the distributor, whereas the earlier engines had the distributor mounted at the rear of the block, down low. Regards,

    If the cylinder head has a slight cut out at the back you can use it on your '41 Hudson, the distributor is held by the two outer head studs, no special stud to hold the distributor.
