Birdman, I searched high and low for those boots as I'm redoing my 41. There a tapered piece. I'd like to have the originals but you have to do the best you can with something else. I found some nice washers at Home Depot made by fluidmaster. There ballcock shank washers used on toilets. There made to be buried in the water tank [durable] and there tapered and go on the shaft real tight. I also took my time and cut the OD edge of the washer down to kind of match the OD of the shaft. I bought several nors pivot shaft kits on ebay to rebuild my 41 pickup front suspension. only one moog kit came with stepped boots. the other moog kit and the two thompson (TRW) came with cutoff hose looking pieces. looks like you can go either way.0

I bought my replacement parts from Kanter a few years ago. Had to call them to talk to someone about my application. Have you called them? Are they sold out?
Good luck with your search.0 -
also did a quick search of ebay on control shafts and noticed alot of later cars into the 1990's used threaded suspensions like hudson. 68 to mid 70's ford mustangs, mavericks, etc. use the same type rubber boots. how about late 80,s to 91 montero's. looks like they can be found in other ways0

It looks a 1989 Montero might do the job. Here is a picture of a Mitsubishi Montero upper control shaft.0
