54 Wasp F/S with Cont. Kit
Found this:
Interesting quarter treatment -- don't know if it's factory. Continental kit has original style bumperettes on bumper, but don't know if it's factory. Neat, though. Has OD, spotlamp etc.

Continental and bumper treatment, visor and quarter panel treatment are not factory. Note the fender skirts and the rocker panels have been modified. Paint on the bumpers and side panels appears to be rattle can silver. My picture files contain several pictures of this same car and I believe those pictures are more than 5 years old.0

does that look like a 262 ?0

i don't like the look of the rocker panels.... look closely at the skirts.... not right..... i'll bet this car had rust issues...0

Those are aftermarket, for sure. Here is our 54 with factory continental kit and visor.0 -
That outfit in IL sells a lot of project cars and ones in various states of repair if you look carefully through their website. I've passed by it in person and verified that too. It may be a fine car but I'd only say (as with many cars) expect to put some money into it.0

Aaron,
Did you mean in various states of disrepair? In this case, passing by is the best thing you can do.

Dave, could you please post a close up of how the center of your visor is mounted? I'm going to try this on my 54 wasp.
thanks

We made center bracket from stainless steel and powder coated it black. It is same visor and side brackets as used on 52/3. Right now, it is dirty and has bugs from latest 500 mile road trip.0 -
wonderful Dave!! thank you very much. That looks good and sturdy, any problems with fluttering at high speeds?0

It is steel, not aluminum. The only time I checked for fluttering was when I first installed it. At 85 mph, it had no fluttering. Since then, I just check to make sure all bolts are tight, as I do on all our stepdowns.0 -
i have seen many a thread warning of the shady methods used by the country classic cars outfit, take your sharp eyes with you if you plan on buying ANYTHING from them, most of (99.99%) the talk i read says steer clear0

When they do wind up with a decent car, they usually want way above market value for it. The last time I talked to someone there, it was hard to decipher his words since he wouldn't stop eating long enough to talk on the phone.0
